Check-In
Competitors must check-in at least 1 hour prior to their tee-time at the SGU Championship Registration Desk. This will be situated in the lounge of Nairn Dunbar Golf Club. Participants are required to attend the pre-event briefing, which commences at approximately 09:45am. Handicaps will be updated at registration therefore no handicap certificate will be required.

Clubhouse
Competitors and their guests may use the clubhouse facilities. The dress code is smart casual. The wearing of jeans, denim trousers, shorts, sleeveless of collarless shirts, shell suits and training shoes is not permitted. Shorts are permitted if tailored. Shoes worn on the golf course may not be worn in the clubhouse.

Catering
Each competitor will receive vouchers in exchange for tea/coffee and bacon roll prior to play. At the conclusion of play an evening buffet and a complimentary pint of Belhaven Best will be served. Any food or beverage out with that provided by Belhaven and the SGU, will be at competitors own expense.

Format
The event is a shotgun start 18-hole medal team competition with a maximum handicap of 28 for men and 36 for ladies with 3/4 allowance given. The teams will consist of the captain and secretary from each club (or nominated club officials) who have entered the Belhaven Best Captains & Secretaries Championship. A maximum of 40 teams will participate. The best nett score recorded by any one of the two players in the team at each hole will be added to form an aggregate.

In the event of a tie for leading positions or for the final qualifying place the following countback procedure will be applied:

The lowest nett score for the last 9 holes and if still a tie
The lowest nett score for the last 6 holes and if still a tie
The lowest nett score for the last 3 holes and if still a tie
The lowest nett score for the last 1 hole and if still a tie
Sudden death match play on the best nett score on the card, hole by hole from the 1st hole.

Substitutions
In the event of a Captain or Secretary being unable to compete in the Regional Final or Grand Final for any reason then the Captain may be replaced by the Vice-Captain or fellow Committee Member while the Secretary maybe replaced by the Bar Steward or equivalent.

Tees
Gents will play from the white medal tees; ladies will play from the red ladies tees.
To account for any difference between ladies and gents sss ladies may be entitled to courtesy strokes.

Rules
The event will be played under the R&A rules of golf and the Local Rules of the Golf Club as determined by the SGU Events Committee. The SGU reserve the right to over rule any club local rule and the use of electronic measuring devices is prohibited.

Trollies, Caddies & Yardage Books
A limited number of trollies are available for hire on a first come first served basis. Yardage books are also available for purchase from the Professional's shop.

Caddies are permitted however all food and beverage will be at their own expense. The use of motorised buggies is not permitted.

Qualifiers
The leading 8 team scores will qualify for the Grand Final. Qualifiers will be announced at the venue as soon as possible after play. Qualifiers will receive information regarding arrangements for the Grand Final after all Regional Finals have taken place.

Scorecards
Scorecards will be provided by the SGU and must be returned to the SGU Championship Mobile Office immediately after play.
